Dear
visitor; our former host has gone bankrupt and turned OFF the
server machines without any warning. My latest backup goes back
to 3 weeks prior to this event, meaning if used, our site will
look three weeks old. Now, another host is offering to retrieve
the data for effected customers but the process, due to vacation
period and/or other reason, is very slow. We have two choices:
1-
use the three weeks old database and move on.
2-
wait one or two more week(s) for the final result of a more recent
backup.
However,
when ever that backup is retrieved we can add it manually to the
database and in this way not loose anything. If we go with
the three weeks old backup we are obviously missing all comments,
requests, new users and posts for that period.
Please
send me an email and let me know which option we should go with.
My email is databaseprob@bborobbar.com please
use subject as "My chioce of database
- username" and replace
the username with your own username. Thanks

Until
now there have been more votes for the first choice. Your arguments
(for both choices) are very understanding and as I can see both
sides are thinking for the good of our site. Let's hear others
too. I will keep you updated. And, let's say that we make
a final decision this Friday. |
